So, when you see in tv shows and Disney Castle Star Wars Chewie we’re home shirt, they’re actually taking a fibrillating heart and sort of hitting it with a big enough charge and hoping the normal rhythm comes back. Sorta like (and I don’t like this analogy for the violence) slapping someone in the face when they’re hysterical. It can quickly get their attention and get them focused again. Now, often you’ll hear, “they’ve flatlined!” This means there’s NO electrical activity in the heart. Shocking the heart does no good in a case like this.
