Our imams spike in simple terms that were accessible to the general population- they didn’t hand out a thesaurus at the same time- in such a simple saying- the word ill has only one context- it is not normal English parlance to mean anything other than sick in that context- so you are ill-advised to take issue with this point. It is well made and designed to be read as positive and constructive criticism- not a debate on semantics.
